Tim O'Connell, an ASE Certified Master Technician, opened the doors to HRM Automotive in 1991. At that time, the company's name stood for Hooes Road Mobil, a tribute to the business that launched his career. Today, it stands for the company's motto: "Honest Reliable Mechanics".

A resident of the area for more than 40 years, Tim is actively involved in the community and takes great pride in helping area residents receive quality car care. In fact, Tim's children attended the same schools as he did as a child. That level of community focus and local pride sets HRM apart from other automotive repair facilities.

From initially contacting the business to completing my vehicle’s service, I had a fantastic experience. Tim and Ron were extremely helpful, personable, and assisted me with throughout the process and I felt informed. They saved me quite a bit of money with my Volvo compared to what I’ve gone through at a dealership and they were able to address a multitude of codes that had popped up in the computer. I’ve struggled to find a decent mechanic who is willing to deal with a Volvo. This is definitely now my new go to! Highly recommend.

This is the only shop I will take my vehicle to, the entire team is so friendly and helpful. They live up their name as they are truly Honest and Reliable! Tim and Ron run the shop as people who really care about their customers. John is an excellent technician (I'm sure they all are here) but I call him Dr. John because he always helps sort out what is going on with my 12 year old Land Rover. Keeps it running in tip top shape even with 175,000 miles on it and counting! Take your vehicle here. You won't regret it.

Had a wonderful experience with HRM! My almost 10 year old car started making a noise last week which had me worried and stressed, and HRM couldn’t have done a better job of taking care of it. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ron to set up my appointment over the phone, dropped my car off in the evening, and the repairs needed were quickly done within a few hours the next morning. Ron took the time to explain the issue that was causing the sound and repairs needed, kept me updated throughout the process, and was so kind and courteous to me throughout my experience. He also let me know the overall shape my car was in, which made me feel so relieved picking it up as I drive far for work and want to feel that my car is safe and reliable. In the fast paced world of today, it was so refreshing to have such a kind and delightful experience with HRM. My car was repaired wonderfully, in such a quick, easy, and efficient manner, and it was such exceptionally great customer service. I very much trust them with my car as everything is straightforward and upfront, and I feel lucky and fortunate to be a customer here. Will be taking my car here for all issues/maintenance from now on!

Ron And HRM Came Through In a "Clutch"!!! I Decided To Take My Trusty Ole '93 Ford Ranger, Manual By The Way, To Baltimore 5½Hrs From NC For a Concert. On The Way Back Home, After Bumper To Bumper Traffic Through D.C., etc, All Of a Sudden My Truck Brake Caliper On My Front Tire Seized Up. I Barely Managed To Pull Off The Highway To a Gas Station And Was Directed Around The Corner To HRM. I Was Immediately Greeted By Ron And He Quickly Assessed The Situation, But Unfortunately They Were Just Closing. Let Me Tell You, The Customer Service Here Was Outstanding. Not Only Did They Let Me Keep My Truck There Overnight Until They Opened The Next Morning, But The Work Was Addressed And Actually FINISHED Before Lunch Time. I Was Back On The Road In No Time And Back Home Safely In NC Before Dinner. The Prices Were Fairly Reasonable For a Northern Automotive Shop, But The Over The Top Customer Service And Speediness Of The Repairs Made Up For It. Ron And His Team Saved Me When I Was In a Tough Situation, Far Away From Home. And For That I Will Be Forever Grateful. The Knowledge, Expertise and Professionalism I Experienced Here Is Something That's Rare These Days.

Every visit impresses me more! I always get the best of service from the friendliest and most helpful folks. The price for the right work at just the right time, is perfect. I have been pleased to recommend HRM to many people, including my current pastors. Five is just too few stars to give these marvelous people! It's a pleasure to find honest professionals that you can trust. I wholeheartedly recommend HRM to anyone with any problem with any car! They are very friendly, very professional, and honest as the day is long. One of the few companies where their name accurately reflects them. I trust them completely.
