I took my car in when it was leaking oil and instead of a $1600 fix (as dealer said), Eddie found a solution for $180. To top it off a few days later he took a look at the VW to make sure his fix actually worked.

I have never heard of a shop that will go out of their way to actually find you a cheaper solution and then spend another 1.5 hours on it for free to make sure my car drives properly!

I brought my car in on a Tue morning just hoping to get it looked at. Josh listened to the issue, gave me two likely scenarios, and told me he will give me a final quote before 4pm. Instead, at 2:20pm I was handed the keys to my completely fixed Passat, all for $127. Honest service, I'll be back here as long as I live in the Cherry Hill area.

Late evening on highway I was forced to rely on the kindness of strange tow truck driver when my car experienced a sudden loss of oil pressure. Knowing nobody in this area was my major worry. Tow driver recommended Desi Auto Care and was I glad they did. Being an out-of-state driver with a car issue is a scary situation. This shop deserves a shout out for being capable and caring.

When I went to pick up my Golf he answered questions about the repair details, and other mechanical concerns I had about my car. He even pulled up photos on the computer to explain the engine design and brakes. There was no " callback pushy up-sell" asking for thousands more as one comes to expect as part of the repair process. I am so pleased that I have to give them a shout. Recommended! YES!

Sam and the team always take car of my family members' vehicles. They recently did my 4 tires, muffler replacement, 75k miles service, and diagnose the check engine light issue. Any other mechanic could tell you "it's your alternator" and charge you unnecessary money. Nope! Not these mechanics, all it was a loose gas cap and I was on my way to home. Thank you so much for being trustworthy.

Took my car here for coil/spark plug replacement and turbo diverter valve replacement. I received thorough explanation of what happening wrong and why, and finished the work on promised time. As far as cost, I cannot compare it to anything because this is my first European. I thought it was fair, will be taking my cars here in future.

My car needed a water pump and it seems like no one wanted to do this repair. I was told it was very difficult, needed special tools and my best bet is take it to there VW dealer. (VW quoted me about $1300). Because of other Netizens and me being desperate, I contacted Desi Auto Care. I spoke with Dylan who took my info and promised to get back to me in 30 min. he called and quoted me a total cost of about $600. I questioned when they can start repair and how much time needed and to my surprise, he said bring it in tomorrow (because one customer cancelled his appointment) and he would have it done before closing! Now my 2nd question ….How do you get it to Desi? AAA’s free towing to the shop. The tow-guy showed up within 90 min. All went good. Now my car runs like a dream.

They listened to my concerns, performed a required service, and even diagnosed an intermittent “check engine” sign issue that another shop I had been referred to said was solved—at least until 2 weeks later when it started happening again. Any VW owner knows repairs are not cheap. This group of techs know what they’re doing, treats customers with personal attention (and no talking down). Drew ensured I was satisfied with the result.

They have been my saviors on 3 occasions. One of them was when dealer decided to leave the oil cap off and the air filter open, causing all kinds of problems. I have a car 93k miles to drop its transmission out. Sam got me back to running very soon. Team is knowledgeable about VWs and they don't mind if you find a better price elsewhere (but you usually won't, esp. considering their expertise).

I recently purchased an Audi, and once the service contract is up, Desi Auto Care going to do all my repairs.

1st call I felt comfortable, he talked to me about problem of my door locking with the key fob and straight up told me how expensive that was to repair and gave me some tips, if I am able to live with it. Yes! I am, and thankful of him being straightforward and not forcing me to repair every little stuff.

2nd call my headlights go out repeatedly for some reason. I replace them out myself last time but that was a headache and when they both went out again, I decided to bring it in. I also had a turn signal sign that was busted and the bumper around it a little unsteady. Chris replaced all lights without problem. I strongly recommend!

I inherently do not trust repair shops. I'm glad to find Desi Auto Care. I was put at ease that Chris was the man - automotive expert. I took my car to him, fearing I possibly needed a new transmission. He did everything to made sure I didn't spend any extra money than was necessary to fix the issue. Replacing the transmission definitely has fixed the issue but Chris was expert enough to know it probably did not need a new transmission. He perfectly diagnosed the real issue and now my car is driving fine.

I went in for loss of horse-power in my engine (going on for 3 weeks now). I recently replaced my fuel filter, so Josh thought it might be a mass air flow sensor - he replaced with new one but that wasn’t the issue. So he took it out and checked the fuel filter. Turns out, I got some dirty diesel (my bad luck!) and needs a new fuel filter again.

My car is back in action, purring just like a best drive and my cost was 1/3 what I had anticipated.

My good running car was at 110K and due for a big service, timing belt, etc. I hesitated going to a regular mechanic v/s dealership. However, all my experiences with the dealer has been horrific.

It's hard to find good techs. Desi Auto guys saved me a lot on my exhaust manifold, suspension, engine speed sensor, brakes and an made me pass state inspection. They will fix the issue and do it happily too!

We were expecting $1000 charge to replace my timing belt and water pump and some small repairs. After cracking the engine open, tech said neither one needed to be replaced yet, we walked out of the place with $130 charge!

These techs know what exactly they are doing. Though they can repair just about any car, but they specialize in European cars.

I just brought them my car that had an airbag light on. My old mechanic said it was a bad air bag control module, clock spring and seat belt buckle and estimate was $834. I took it to Desi Auto Care for additional opinion. It turned out to be a bad seat belt buckle and a bent bracket inside a steering wheel. I supplied my own parts and he charged me $75 for labor!

My car suddenly started running heavy and engine check light came on. Having faint of heart encounter, I took my car to Desi Auto Care, worried about big bill. Bryan did everything to accommodate my unplanned visit. They replaced the failed ignition coil causing a misfire on one of the cylinders. He could've been easily misguided me of replacing fuel pump and control module issues etc.

It's a dependable repair service without a non-sense outrageous repair charges. I'm NOT a paid spokesperson for them, but a satisfied AT-WILL customer.

I went over to Volkswagen dealer In Cherry Hill to have a coolant sensor changed. They wanted me to pay $345 for labor and $95 for the sensor. I wasn't happy. I decided to test Desi Auto Care and the technician showed me the location of the sensor and showed me the loose wiring hanging on. He was a straight shooter about it. I got charged $129 including parts! I do recommend this spot. Reliable!

I took my car in to Desi for a weird humming noise. Chris repaired the noise, but weeks later the noise returned, left it with Bryan, they switched the part for another. No issues since. Chris never gave me any hassle or lip about me coming back. Through no fault of his shop, it happened to be a defective part. He did the repairs quick and double checked for issues. I don't know about you but I'll take an honest shop that stands by their workmanship to ensure the customer is satisfied no matter what. Great work!

Soon visiting Alabama, air conditioner in my car was not cooling and only blowing hot air. Bryan and his mechanics did a leak check and added required freon to start my AC blowing cold air. While my car was inside the shop he completed full inspection of my car to let me know concerns that would need to pay attention in future. What I like most about the Desi Auto Care was that lead mechanic displayed professionalism and show real care in ensuring that I'm going to drive safe care, he pointed me that I had a tail bulb out and replaced it at no charge!.

I highly recommend this shop; they definitely have my future business.

Brought in for the vacuum pump oil leak and Josh has seen this issue before in Jetta's and said that I should call the Volkswagen corporate office to see if there was a recall for this issue, since it seemed like a design/manufacturing glitch.

Well, I called and there was no recall and I had to have Josh replace the defective pump. It was really nice of him to suggest calling the Volkswagen to help save me money.

Driving my daughter to school on a busy road, my car misfired and the check engine light popped-up. I managed to get my daughter to school and drove over to the Desi Auto Care folks. I had no appointment and he was fully-booked.

He did not send me away, instead his mechanic checked things out and diagnosed it. It seems I had a bad coil which need to be replaced. I was out in about one hour. No other place would do this! We've been coming here since they opened. My family and I will never take our cars anywhere else.

A place with caring client service. We were traveling through area and had the oil sensor light/buzzer shows up on my family van. Concerned with my oil pressure, I called for a late night tow and young tow truck driver recommended Desi Auto Care.

They took us in very first in the AM, and we’re very accommodating. They track down a new switch issue for my sensor and did everything they could to get us back on the traveling as soon as possible. Thanks folks so much for all the help! HIGHEST recommend.

Lately I have been having problems with my car starting at 115k miles-Andrew kept the car going through a new clutch-engine lights switches-wheeles struts/harms, etc. I can trust Andrew's honest and excellent service is going to keep the car running for a long time. PS: my only complaint is that I wish he would have given me an appointment earlier than this.

This car came with a huge design flaw. The oil pump is chain driven. The chain tensioner can fail without warning and ruin the engine. Volkswagen fixed all of these engines (under warranty) in European Country, but did not fix for American customers. The fix is a gear driven module. Desi Auto Care did fantastic work. This is very big job. The front of the car has to pull out, the engine suspended and the balance module swapped out on the bottom of the engine.

Desi previously done the balance shaft module replacement. I take very good care of my cars and this was money well spent.

Recent example my car had an issue with oil pressure sign coming on during stop and go traffic in hot days. He told me that it's possible it could need a new oil pump, but that since it's an older car, I can try going up to a 50w oil first, because replacing the pump would be costly and possibly unnecessary. He always wants to try the less costly options for you first. He's an ethical guy and isn't looking to take advantage of any customers.

One of the turbo's went out on our car and Used Car Dealer mechanic wanted to pull the engine to swap both turbo's cost about $10K! Desi Auto Care quickly diagnosed the issue as a broken pivot stud on one turbo's variable pitch vanes actuator arm. While they would not guarantee that they could perform the service, at least they were willing to give it a shot. We agreed, even if they may not successful in replacing the pivot stud. Eureka! They were successful, though spent a few more hrs than expected and they held true to their quote and saved me $9K. After clearing engine fault codes, mechanic drove the car until it had gained enough miles to be fully tested. THE BEST mechanic in NJ- bar none!

I was having problem-- car 'kicking' while I was driving on turnpike. Then my check engine and TCM light came on. I tried diagnosing my car at AutoZone scanner and the code which usually points to the Transmission Control Module.

I brought my car to Sean he scanned/diagnosed it. With his advise I ended up buying the part online for $395 cheaper than dealer, brought my car back in and got it changed and programmed all total for $230. (remember that Volkswagen dealer wanted $180 just to diagnose it.) It's been 20 days and V6 is still driving great.

I had my CV boots and half axle shafts taken care on Thursday. Recent safety check inspection revealed that the boots were torn and very potentially leak in to the front brakes. He suggested coming in at 5pm and it would take a few hrs. Sam and mechanic stayed late night after shop hours. This gave me a chance to grab dinner at Nimit Palace restaurant. I saw the good ratings and decided to go with them to replace four sensors on my car. They got the part in less than 20 hrs and installed very next day. The repair took little longer than expected but waiting room was full of free foods/drinks (of course I enjoyed!!) I feel that the repair was done professionally and am pleased with results.

I've come to Desi four times now. It's a very clean spot, close to PATCO railway station. I spoke to Sean who was very nice and explained to me in layman's terms what was issues with my vehicle and why it needed to be fixed.

They were able to quickly assess what was wrong and the repairs that needed to absolutely be done immediately to get back on the street. I needed to replace a gasket and spark plugs. I definitely appreciate his upfront fast service as I didn't have to miss any time from work.

My old car recently "blew up" on a trip home from South Jersey. I was able to have it towed to Desi. This shop was recommended to me by a relative. Brought my car here when the clutch pedal dropped to the floor. All six repair bays are clean and well run shop. Sean was the technician I dealt with. I brought the car in on a day before, and he had it finished on next day.

Had both the master and slave clutch cylinders replaced at reasonable price. I'm grateful for 2 years warranty!

I stopped in with a diagnosis of a dead battery from the Cherry Hill dealer, the replacement of which Sam quoted me at a far far.... lower price. Ultimately because of a much more thorough and thoughtful diagnosis process at DESI, it became clear that a new battery was not needed at all. (Actually there was a wiring issue) but I can tell already they're the go-to place from now on.

Such a low key, no attitude service that I loved. When they are busy they will give you realistic waiting times. Won't give you the run around, won't turn you upside down looking for pennies and will tell it as it is. It's such a refreshing change where most auto-related place will surely feel like financial rape. Opens rather early but not open on Sundays. Don't get taken, try Desi Auto Care first and then evaluate.

Slippage of transmission is a pain. My VW Jetta daily would jerk in between shifting gears and wouldn't accelerate quickly, so I do have to drive it fast for a few minutes to see it won't accelerate. Ryan found the problem (Valve Body being replaced) and is getting my business from now on. Car drives super smooth now. A + experience at Desi Auto Care.

Issue: my automatic opening/closing trunk lid repaired at another shop that will remain nameless. They kept my vehicle for a couple days, replaced the shocks at trunk saying that they "may" fix the problem costing me $525 and then tells me it will be an additional $1870 to completely do the job. I said, "No thanks" of course now I'm out of $525! My business partner suggested Desi Auto Care so I gave them a shot. Shawn was very professional and easy to talk to. I took my car in. Everything went well with my repairs; Leslie always updated me on what parts needed to be ordered and the status of my car.

When I went to go pick my car he picked me up from Ashland railway station.

I was charged $311 to repair my trunk...a HUGE difference.

I will recommend them to anyone.

My daughter called me with panic; many lights went on in her dashboard before I rushed out to work. I told her to send her car to Desi Auto Care as I always use this shop for all my repairs. They did decent jobs and never rip customers off. I thought my daughter might not be able to drive the car today. To my surprise, my daughter called me when I was still on the Philadelphia- train to work to let me know that the car was repaired and ready to go! The lights went off was due to low engine oil. They topped off the engine oil and inflated tires to right pressures. Everything was back to normal. The best of all was they did all these for no charge. Thanks Shawn and Sam! When my VW clutch pedal broke, dealership service people who always want to dig deep in my pocket, told me I needed a new clutch and transmission work.

Finally, I chose to go to Desi Auto Care. Andrew replaced the clutch master cylinder which was broken from wear and tear. No need for a new paddle and he did not give me a run around, he was straight forward, and told me there was no damage to the clutch or transmission. I now feel confident bringing both my cars to Desi Auto Care for great mechanics by a trusted shop. Oh! And waiting room is full with all kinds of free refreshments + 2 years warranty on repairs.

I put the wrong type oil in my VW Golf engine and smoke started to come out the tail pipe. What do I do? After research I dialed Desi Auto Care in Stratford. They told me to bring it on Monday noon.

He drains that oil and change filter, put half of the engine oil required, run the engine at IDLE until you see the smoke out of exhaust clears. He then 2nd time drains the oil and replace filter. Finally, this method solved my issue.

Sam and his team are really low-key. They do not over-promise and when you go back to pick up your car you're really happy. He gives me safety and maintenance smart tricks. Reasonable rate too!

I was driving to Maple Shade when my car started to overheat and the gas pedal almost stopped working. I barely made it to this shop and they were very friendly in assisting me. Instead of taking advantage of me, they worked overtime to get my car fixed by 7:30pm and even picked me up from restaurant. Sam helped turn around a potentially devastating situation.

We have been taking our car to Desi Auto Care since few years and we have never had any complaint. Before I brought my car 1st time, my husband heard from few of my relatives that this is very honest shop and good prices. Because shop does quality jobs, it's always full. For my regular maintenance services, I always call to make appointment. But that doesn't mean that the shop will not help you in emergency situations.

Recently after I done gym, my water pump died in LA fitness parking lot. At that time I didn't know the issue. Only thing I knew that the car overheated, the temperature red lined and I could not continue to drive and they took care of it expertly. + They always give 2 years warranty including everything.

We took my wife's car in after the check engine light illuminated. Dealer ran a diagnostic and told us, we needed a new catalytic converter and new oxygen sensors. Quote $2487 will cost us! We didn't approve the work since the car only worth $4000. Service advisor wanted to treat us coffee-donut but what's the point to become a foolish.

Eventually Desi Auto Care replaced the catalytic converter for fair price. They also show us in garage that the oxygen sensors were operating perfectly. Sam cares for their customer!!

My 2008 GTI has been making loud noises so I brought it in along with an oil change. Dropped off on wed, called me thus with the issues the car had. They walked me through every step of the way and only did repairs I agreed on. Got bonus- when I picked up the car, they put on an air intake duct cover lid I was missing, for free without me asking.

This is a great Volkswagen shop. Shawn and team are helpful and accommodating - I've been here 3x now for service (diagnostic, alternator & fixing a problem behind the dreaded engine light) and routine maintenance on my '06 VW. I TESTED them pretty much knowing what my problem was by going to dealer and online forum, I had an engine "boost" leak and need a "pressure diagnostic test" to make sure which valve or hose was leaking, likely was the driverter valve, and cost $560 from dealer.

Took my car in, Desi's mechanic said I would need a "pressure diagnostic test" to locate the leak. (Approved!)

Later on Rachael called me. I had a bad "diverter valve" and needs replacement was fair price. (Okay! Approved)

Also I've had a bunch of repairs done on my Passat and they have been fair.

Went to desi auto care to have my brakes looked at. There was a screeching sound and when I braked the car pulled heavily to one side. Was worried this might involve all kinds of money, but while i had a fun conversation with Shawn the mechanic checked the brakes, adjusted them, and I was out of there 40 minutes later with a $27 bill. I especially appreciated this as Shawn's shop was very busy and he initially asked me if I could come back three days later, but when I ask him I'm really needed this to be checked out right away, tomorrow I'm going to Upstate Pennsylvania.

He did it with brotherly love.

Lately I'm hearing popping sounds from the rear of the my Jetta after starting the engine, vibrating when slowing to a shop, pops go away and fuel economy decreases, Check engine light illuminates, Engine will not start after refueling (must crank for over 30 seconds).

Andrew at DESI diagnoses this noise is from the leak detection pump filling the fuel tank with air, and releasing to retest the system when it finds a fault. He suggested replacing the front of the intake manifold N80 valve with the latest revision.

With his sharp Volkswagen knowledge, he fixes the popping and other problems etc...issues gone forever.

I've taken my daily driver VW in a number of times for service and most recently after discovering a terrible front end shake.

Car started to shake violently as I accelerated rendering it unsafe and almost undrivable but I somehow made it home. I brought it to Desi Auto Care and was later informed that the motor mounts and axles needed replacing. Also I authorized the repair to include a sensor replacement that tripped the Check Engine Light (totally unrelated to the shake). After replacing all motor mounts and both axles, finally Volkswagen was cured. They kept their promise of resolving my issues and keeping my cost fair. And not until a few days ago did I realized they even polished my terribly hazed and compromised plastic headlight housings and restored visibility and I wasn't charged anything additional.

Desi was a lucky find and made my car drive smoother & faster than it ever has, with a nice price. My '01 Volkswagen was in a real rut. He took his time to "RESEARCH" what was wrong with my VW from every angle and explained things to me in a very understandable way. Andrew "shopped" around for the best priced parts, he even welded together a customer part for me when his custom maker was jacking up the price. He didn't think I should have to pay more than I needed to and he wanted my car fixed right. This kind honesty and customer concern is hard to find in a mechanic, especially from imported repair shop.

I bought this used car and it was making a slight rattling sound during 1st gear. VW dealership had written me a grocery list of items that were crucial for my Volkswagen. When I found Desi Auto Care I was prepared for the worst and thought I was about to drop a serious amount of money.

I called them and I spoke with receptionist and she said appointment is necessary. I brought my '02 VW GTI VR6 here for the first time. Once there, me and Shawn took the car for a test drive and I pointed out what I was hearing. I left the car there for a few hours while he checked it out. I received a call later on that evening informing me that the car was ready and the only thing he noticed was a couple of loose parts. He even gave it a safety inspection since he knew I had recently purchased the car.

Cost??? Let's just say I was happily surprised and the next time the car needs service I will be bringing it here. "Cherry on the Top" - They offer 24 months/ 24,000 miles warranty on all of the repair jobs. Honest mechanics. Period! Give them a shot!

Why me? A check engine light came on again.

The Philadelphia Volkswagen dealership quoted over $1,000 to replace a charcoal canister they said was leaking. They said if we drove the car we would loose gas. I took the car over to Desi Auto Care and he checked for leak and said there was no leak. It was a big fat lie from the dealership.

Shawn replaced the gas cap and that solved the problem. It cost me $69.47 for the diagnostics and the gas cap, Problem solved. I'm so glad I didn't let the dealership rip me off over a $1,000. Shawn is so nice and he is honest and fair. Hard to find a jewel like him these days.

Brought my 05 Jetta in for a leaky coolant flange and Desi Auto Care managed to find that my control arms were also messed up, that explains the thumping sounds I would often hear. They started working on it right away and their customer service was more than excellent. Saves me great deal of money! Sweet!

Dealer wanted an arm and a leg for parts but Sean managed to find me a better deal. I will be returning for future maintenance.
