It was 5pm on a Friday night in Cocoa Beach and the passenger window track shattered. My wife and I were touring from Canada and to continue our journey with no window in place was not a pleasant thought, both for comfort and security. I typed in VW repairs on my GPS and it took us to Mark's Werkshop. He was unable to obtain the part until Monday, so to allow us to continue on he pulled the window back up into place and custom cut some rubber wedges to hold it in place. On being asked the cost of the repair...."Nothing! It was broke when you came in and it's still broke now you're leaving!" I hope the money I insisted he take was enough to buy him a few Guinness. A great, old fashioned attitude, and a pleasure to meet him. If I'm ever back in Cocoa Beach I will certainly pay him a visit. I still own the veedub diesel with 400k kms on it, and Mark's temporary fix got us back to canada where I had the part permanently replaced. Thanks Mark. Btw, he couldn't believe we were directed to his out-of-the-way shop by a GPS, and HAD to phone a friend to tell him.
