Mr. Richardson(Levy is his first name) is a very kind older gentleman. He dearly loves old VW's and won't work on a VW that has a water radiator in it, he is "air-cooled" all the way. He and his son Pan have moved their shop to Avenue D over in Ensley, near the old steel mill railroad overpass going north on Hwy. 269 towards Jasper, AL. It's only about 3 miles off of I-59/20 South on the western side of Birmingham. Don't expect a bright fancy clean shop(it's actually located in the back of a body shop), but be assured that you will get really good work that won't cost you a lot. Mr. Richardson told me that most of his official training came in the 1970's from german VW factory engineers and mechanics during a 6-week training session down in New Orleans. The rest he has just figured out by himself. I heartly recommend his work if you love your VW like I love mine! -Randy Mize, Birmingham 1/3/12
